I bought this rain jacket in preparation for the upcoming El Nino storm ridden winter we were forewarned about in Southern California. I got to test it out this week during our first set of storms, and it performed beautifully. All my research has assured me of North Face's quality, although I haven't owned their products before. So first off, it fits me very well (I purchased size medium, and I'm 5'3" 130lbs) with room for a jacket underneath for warmth (without looking bulky!), and the feminine contoured cut sides is a huge bonus. I am not sure why I'm concerned about how my figure looks in a raincoat, but there ya go if it's important to you as well.It is a thin jacket, so if it's chilly at all in your area, be sure you order a size up so that you have room for a jacket underneath. Other features I like: zippered outside pockets, mesh interior (picture 2), cinch cords at the bottom and on the hood (pictures 3 and 4), you can store the hood in the collar if it is not needed, and the velcro flap that goes over the zipper to keep you totally waterproof (picture 5). The jacket is indeed waterproof, the drops of rain just bead off of it. I stayed completely dry and comfortable, and was very handy when walking the dog in the rain. I really like it, and recommend it to anyone looking for a lightweight rain jacket!I feel like I need between medium and large. I like it to be a little roomy. Let's be real, Northface isn't really cut for a curvy female. I have wider hips and a smaller upper body. I was felt the medium would be more snug at the hips. I was nervous spending this much, but have tried Target (Merona, $40-ripped after 3 months), tried some Kohls jacket ($25, not breathable), Amazon rain jacket (squeaky, $20, smelled bad), JCPenney- didn't like the material....finally splurged on myself.LOVE IT. I was hesitant. Cost, size, the thin material- is it worth it? To me yes. Keeps me just warm enough on a chilly Michigan spring morning when I know by afternoon there will be humid storms. And, then breathable enough to wear in said storm. The sleeves are too long for sure, but the medium would be a fitted look, and I didn't want that. I am 5'5, 150 lbs, about 34DD, 30 waist, 38 hips.I bought this jacket to replace a well-loved Helly Hansen, so a brand switch was kind of a big move for me. I usually wear a L, but ordered a size up because I wanted to be able to fit layers under the raincoat. I'm from the Pacific Northwest, so having good rain gear is a must. I can comfortably fit a chunky sweater, sweatshirt or fleece (or a combination) underneath of it. From what I can tell, the jacket runs just the little bit big. The jacket is effective at rain protection, and I love that you can roll up the hood if you want to. The only thing I would've liked to have in this raincoat is underarm vents for when you're doing physical activity, but it's not a huge deal, the jacket is still great anyways.I wore it today to work a 30 minute carline in the pouring rain. It was perfect. I couldn't carry an umbrella and get kids in cars and work the radios, so it was important that this keep me dry and be flexible enough for me to move freely. It was perfect. I was nice and dry when I got back inside, and it never felt like it was in the way. The only thing I wish it had was a place or a tag to write my name. It'll be hung up at school with other rain coats, and it's not easy to distinguish the black rain coat from 25 other jackets. A simple white tag would be helpful.I'm 5'2" and weigh 107 lbs. This jacket fits me perfectly when I'm not wearing a sweater under it. I like the fact that it's tapered at the waist and not boxy. With a sweater under it, it's a little tight. The quality is very good, and the dark spruce color is a rich, beautiful color. I wish it had one more pocket either in the back or at the breast for a cell phone.Ordered this jacket last friday and opted for the standard free shipping. I got it yesterday (a week before it was supposed to come) and it fit perfectly. I'm 5'4 135lbs and i ordered a small. I have a longer torso and it fits perfectly. Goes a little past my hips in the back, is tailored so it's more flattering than the standard rectangular style, and fits exactly as I hoped. I love this jacket and it's great to get it for about 20 dollars cheaper than in stores. I definitely recommend it.I got a size medium and it's a close fit, not too much room to wear sweaters underneath. I wore it in London during spring time and it was warm enough with just tshirt underneath. When the hood is rolled up, it makes the collar a bit bulky but manageable.I took this coat with me on a recent trip to London/Berlin/Paris and it was exactly what I needed. Clean-cut, just stylish enough and it kept the rain and other elements off while walking around the city. Recommended for warmer springtime weather, but definitely one of my favorite purchases in the past year-- totally easy to stow in my suitcase if not needed and great if running quick errands. ?I have gone for the donhobo brand on Amazon over this in the end. Despite fitting north face items as a medium this was not designed for people in mind with bigger busts for easy practical fastening and movement. The quality felts cheap, very grating sound to the plastic and didn’t feel like other north face items I have. It felt like the shoulder seams didn’t really match and was just designed for people with no chest or completely thin bodies.I’m short but other items I have fit very well so I was surprised this was so unflattering and impractical. I returned it straight away. The price is quite high for not a lot of material really and the donhobo brand was half the price with the inner detachable fleece too.Maybe I should have bought direct from the store as this seemed fake and very badly produced and didn’t quite match the image online. The look and finish of clean edges and formed silhouette was absent and this fits like a sheet of bin liner wrapped around you.Customer service is brilliant.I am size 8-10, so I though I will buy size S and that should be fine.I got delivery in time and realized that size S was slightly too big as I like more fitted clothes. So decided to return the item and buy XS. So now I am super happy as Jacket fits me perfectly! Happy with product. Muchas gracias por leer.I was really disappointed with this jacket. The zip is a huge problem for me. It never stays zipped up. When I zip it up and then go dog walking, the zip is so flimsy that it then starts unzipping from the bottom up. For such an expensive jacket it has been a complete waste of money! Really disappointed with North Face.Bought this jacket for my daughter because she liked mine so much. She is very pleased. There is one problem I've noticed though - there is no loop to hang them up. Otherwise good, practical and quite stylish waterproof jacket.
