I have the longer version of this coat, and I love it. I bought it to go shopping in stores, because my North Face down would make me so hot I'd almost pass out. I was thrilled to find this in a short length - knowing I liked the coat very much. Just like it's longer counterpart, this coat is warm. If you're getting super cold temps - don't bother - but for 30's and up (moving around and not standing outside doing nothing), no problem.I bought the shorter version to wear with athletic pants, jeans, etc when I didn't want a longer coat. I was between the 1X and the XL. They are NOWHERE close to one another. I'm a size 16 on top. With winter clothes (sweatshirt, sweater, etc), I have to wear the 1X. If I am wearing a t-shirt, I can wear the XL, but it still feels more snug than I'd like. I'm losing weight, so I have both an XL and a 1X so I'm covered. I'll need the XL when I hit a size 14. But when I'm a 14, I think the 1X will be too big with a sweatshirt, and I don't think the XL will work well with a sweatshirt. We'll see. If they had an XXL misses size - it might be perfect?I bought Dark Nocturnal (aka navy blue) 1X and Wild iris XL due to availability. The Dark Nocturnal is a true navy blue. It's great for kicking around and looks good on. The Wild Iris kind of is the color of Barney. I don't care; I love the color - but it's a purplish pinkish color that reminds me of Barney. From my personal experience, Columbia regular sizing runs small. Columbia plus sizing is TRUE to size. So keep that in mind when shopping. I'd put the XL at a 14 unless you're not busty at all, perhaps a 16. 1X will fit 16-18 perfectly. As a plus size girl I didnt like the idea of a puffy or insulated jacket, thinking it would look a little unflattering to me. However I am in love with this jacket and have worn it almost everyday since I received it. The size is true and although the fit might feel snug, it is definitely still comfy and very warm. Very happy with this purchase! This is the best jacket I have ever owned. I used to bundle up so much in a 3-in-1 jacket that it was uncomfortable to move (remember the kid in A Christmas Story?). The Omni-heat lining is amazing. The other day I went out while the wind chill was -7. There was no need to add extra layers under the jacket. Also, because it is not bulky, I think it is flattering for women of all sizes. I know the cost of the jacket is a little pricey, but it is well worth the cost. By the way, I bought this first as a vest and then went back and purchased this jacket.I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. This is of great quality. The thumb holes prevent the sleeves from riding up. It was easy to pack in a compact manner. I took it to Boston where it was around 30 degrees F. It kept me nice and warm and was not too bulky. Worth the money.I really do like this coat. But I can say that I live In Missouri and it was 0 out and windy and I was not warm. I don’t see how In other reviews they said they were out in negative degrees and were warm. I still really like the coat though.I love this jacket, it is just what I was looking for. It's warm, it's lightweight, the lining helps it to easily glide off & on (even with heavy fleece or a sweater), it's washes up well. It might not work for someone who wants to be outdoors in seriously cold weather for a long period of time, but that's not me. I don't even bother with any of my other coats of jackets -- I just reach for this one. It fits just a little bit small, so if you are between sizes, size up. You will love it.I live in Alaska, and needed a new winter jacket that was lightweight. This jacket fits true to size, I love all the zip up pockets and the thumb holes in the sleeve keep my hands warm. This jacket is my new favorite, it is very warm, without making me overheated. The hood stays on well once you've fully zipped up, even during our windstorms last week where we had 35 mph wind gusts. Best clothing purchase online I have made in a while.I like that this is true to size, the last coat I ordered was too small by someone else and I gave it to my granddaughter. It's very lightweight and it is definitely warm. I also appreciate that they did asked me to review it as soon as I got it.I love this jacket! It fits perfectly (thankfully), it's so soft and comfy and super light weight! And even though it's so light, it's still warm! The thumb cuffs are so awesome and soft! It looks awesome, nice color, and I have had many compliments on it. I love how comfy it is! It also has an inside pocket which is great. I would buy again for sure if needed and can recommend for sure!Bought this in the middle of August so no clue how it'll preform in the cold, but I can say if you want to be able to wear sweaters under this coat consider buying a size up. I originally bought my normal size for Columbia jackets but when it arrived it fit well but with a sweater it would be too small. The next size up has enough room to allow for even a poofy sweater without feeling overstuffed. It's a beautiful coat.I loved this jacket and had picked up the same jacket from Marks Work Warehouse in a 3X. I found it very large (very boxy). So, I thought the 2X would fit closer to how I wanted it to fit. Nope, it was way too tight, so much so, that I had trouble getting the zipper done up! I decided, because I like the jacket so much, that I would once again try the 3X, in hopes that maybe the first 3X was a dud and made wrong. Fingers crossed that this 3X is truer to size and right in between the 2X and the very large 3X from Marks.Superbe manteau, la coupe est parfaite, la longueur est parfaite, pas trop long, pas trop court. Il est léger et chaud à la fois.Another happy customer. True to size, very warm and easy to look after. I wash it in washing machine and dry so fast. This jacket doesn't contain feather or down so it doesn't have the smell. Love it
